Teaching

I am a dedicated teacher who has consistently received excellent evaluations from students and members of the academic staff, with expertise in International Relations Theory; Security Studies; Political Violence; Strategic Studies; Race and Ethnic Politics; Migration and Border Studies; and Post/de-colonial Studies. This can be seen in my last teaching evaluation as a postdoctoral fellow at the LSE, which averaged 4.8/5. My pedagogy is anchored in collaborative and active forms of learning and encourages students to think critically, independently, and politically about the topics. In my teaching, I use a variety of methods that appeal to multiple learning styles, including case studies, videos, PowerPoint, simulations, oral presentations, debates, etc. I have conducted seminars and lectures at both undergraduate and graduate levels and have strong experience facilitating small and large class discussions in diverse and multicultural settings.
